A leading Software company with clients across the globe are looking for a Frontend Software Engineer on a contract basis.

Title: Frontend Software Engineer

Location: Remote (UK based)

Rate: £500-£550 per day (outside IR35)

Length: 3 months + extensions

Start: 30/09/2024

Your focus will be to create shareable and reusable web components within HTML, CSS, & React, and consult with UX designers to give the company’s products an amazing, consistent user experience.

This role is part of a team of Design System Experts, looking to create a set of reusable components, supported by a strong set of foundations and robust best-practice and guidelines to be adopted by a large ecosystem of products

Responsibilities:

• Create shareable libraries of Web UI components that adhere to Bentley interaction and visual design standards
• Evangelize and facilitate the adoption of Web UI Standards
• Document best practices for Web UI development
• Research and evaluate internally developed and third-party controls recommended for use

About you;

• At least 3 years of experience with HTML5, CSS, & React as well as experience in visual design / UI layout.
• Ability to communicate design ideas / concepts with both designers and developers, and adapt to technical restrictions.
• Proven experience working on building a complex Design System and working with Designers to build it.

Technical skills:

• HTML5 knowledge
• JavaScript and/or React knowledge
• CSS pre-processing platforms, such as SASS
• Experience with Git and GitHub.
• Skilled at UI mockup apps such as Figma, Miro and Adobe tools
• Cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
• Conformance to WCAG AA accessibility guidelines.

Additional points for:

• Understanding open source best practices.
• Good understanding of interaction and visual design principles
• Ability to handle multiple requests at once with frequent priority shifts.
• Prior experience with Ariakit or Storybook.
